Third Person Objective or Limited?

Dear Diary,

I'm so sorry I haven't written lately.
Lina is still a pretty, if not perfect, kitty, and I'm happy to have her in the house!

Work is very tiring.
I seem to be spending a lot of energy doing a lot of nothing!
It's so hard being the new girl. Ugh.

I'm 'training', but all they do is give me busy work so they can either mess around or do something more important. How is a person supposed to learn anything?

And then people get mad at me when I do something wrong! Well no one handed out a stack of "Whatever You Do, DON'T....." cards to me.

Sometimes I think people are marking their territory when I walk by. Don't worry buddy, I have no interest in that stapler! Even before you rubbed it on your pants in that funny way....

Unconsciously, I've started wearing colors similar to the wall paper. By blending in, mouth shut, eyes and ears open, I'm learning a lot more. Like a fly on the wall, listening to everyone's story.

I'm not eavesdropping, I'm awaiting further instruction.

Oh well - maybe next week will be better.
I think I saw another manual with my name on it.
Goody!

Love,
Me

Note to self: Practice sleeping with eyes open.

Someone Earned That Fat Paycheck

Not only do I want a VW Rabbit now, but I just purchased Patrick and Eugene's "The Birds and The Bees" from iTunes. It's cute and clever! The commercial and the song. I know the Rabbit has an identity problem, but now it's got the cute little emblem on it again. (Ok, I wouldn't really buy a car based on such trivial motivations....)

I also downloaded KC and The Sunshine Band's "Boogie Shoes" because I've seen the "So You Think You Can Dance" commercial one too many times today. It's one of the few 'reality' shows I watch.

Unfulfilled dreams indeed.

Marketing is certainly not wasted on me, is it?
Sigh.

I Like The Shimmery Ones That Look Like Champagne Bubbling Over

The Night I Painted The Sky
Jimmy Buffett, Russ Kunkel, Jay Oliver, Roger Guth, and Peter Mayer

Verse
I CAME FROM THE NORTH ESCAPING CONVENTION
THE MODERN INVENTION THAT WON'T LET ME BE
TO THE SHORES OF ST. MAARTEN WITH MY FICTION ADDICTION
TO RESTART THE FIRE A DREAMER'S REMEDY

Verse
INDEPENDENCE DAY AND ALL I REMEMBER
WAS A MIDNIGHT RAINBOW THAT FELL FROM THE SKY
AS I STAND ON THE BEACH I SLOWLY SURRENDER
TO THE CHILD IN ME WHO CAN'T SAY GOOD-BYE

Chorus
THE ROCKETS IN THE AIR
AND THE PEOPLE EVERYWHERE
PUT AWAY THEIR DIFFERENCES FOR AWHILE
OH I AM STILL A CHILD WHEN IT COMES TO SOMETHING WILD
THAT WAS THE NIGHT I PAINTED THE SKY

Verse
I DUG IN THE SAND LIKE A BOY, ON A MISSION
AND THERE IN MY HANDS A PYRO'S DELIGHT
A BOMBADIER, A NIGHTTIME MAGICIAN
I SPARK THE SKY AS THE ROCKETS FLY FROM VIEW

Chorus
THE ROCKETS IN THE AIR
AND THE PEOPLE EVERYWHERE
PUT AWAY THEIR DIFFERENCES FOR AWHILE
I AM STILL A CHILD WHEN IT COMES TO SOMETHING WILD
THAT WAS THE NIGHT I PAINTED THE SKY

Verse
OH THE MORTARS THEY ROAR IN ANTICIPATION
PRECEDING THE SIGH OF THE UPLIFTED EYES
IT SHOWERS US ALL IN SULFURIC SENSATION
THE COLORS SHINE IN A FIERY RHYME TONIGHT

Chorus
THE ROCKETS IN THE AIR
AND THE PEOPLE EVERYWHERE
PUT AWAY THEIR DIFFERENCES FOR AWHILE
I AM BUT A CHILD WHEN IT COMES TO SOMETHING WILD
OH THAT WAS THE NIGHT
THAT WAS THE NIGHT
OH THAT WAS THE NIGHT I PAINTED THE SKY
PAINTED THE SKY
PAINTED THE SKY

What's your favorite Independence Day song?
